Euphorbia ingens and peace

    Euphorbia ingens and peace

The habitat of the naboom is deciduous woodland, often on rocky hills in hot, dry land. These trees are frequently found near termite mounds in the Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and North West provinces. The species distribution extends over much of tropical Africa with a notable forest near Lake Nakuru in Kenya.

An earlier descriptive name for this tree was Euphorbia candelabrum. This picture was taken in winter in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Noad and Birnie, 1994; www.plantzafrica.com).
