Euphorbia curvirama in the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden

Euphorbia curvirama or the Kei euphorbia is a small tree when growing well, as in its Eastern Cape habitat. The spiny, succulent stems display a graceful symmetry as they preside over the rocky hills and valleys of their coastal countryside.

According to Coates Palgrave (2002) it is botanically close to several other species of the genus, like E. triangularis, E. tetragona and others.

As long as the plants live, they evolve. As long as they evolve, further research will be required. A living system is not even fully known and understood once it is dead. Let alone when it still meets new challenges, responding in unique ways.
