Shiny, purple fruit on this female Euphorbia hamata bush in August still bear their branched stigmas on top. The shiny, segmented fruit is darker in colour than the bulging stigma branch tips.
Some stem-tip bracts are still pinkish red where the fruits are yet to develop. The others have faded to pale shades, the fruits having replaced them as the items of colour. The pale green stem-tips bearing the fruit are thick, almost the diameter of the fruit itself.
