Crassula pubescens subsp. pubescens inflorescence

An inflorescence of Crassula pubescens subsp. pubescens is a compact, rounded but pointy cluster of many flowers. Dare one say shaped somewhat like a Corona virus? Omicron sounds like an expletive in our time.

Several of these branched clusters are present, semi-differentiated in picture. They are sometimes well-spaced near the tip of the sturdy, pinkish and pubescent stem.

The oblong, blunt-tipped sepals, adhering but giving way to white petals in the midst of each bud, are green or purplish brown in picture. Protuberances that may be the petal tip appendages found on flowers of this species are visible at the bud tips (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
