Crassula setulosa var. setulosa forma setulosa branching

Crassula setulosa var. setulosa forma setulosa may branch at the base and produce a few stems inclining outwards. The branched inflorescence at the stem tip bears many small white flowers in a dense cluster, nearly flat topped to slightly rounded. Fleshy green sepals, narrowly pointed, reach nearly halfway up the corolla. The five petals form a small cup and curve outwards at their tips. The anthers may be coloured yellow, orange, brown or dark purple. Flowering happens in summer and autumn.

The identity of this plant is not without doubt and controversy, as might be expected given the range of variations and forms of C. setulosa involved. Also note the similar appearance of the leaves of C. pseudohemisphaerica elsewhere in this Album, while the elongated inflorescence is clearly different (Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iSpot).
