Pteronia glauca flowering

    Pteronia glauca flowering

Pteronia glauca or boegoekaroo doesn’t sprout after fires. The grey leaves are elliptic and hairy, folding in slightly along the midribs.

The yellow flowerhead is narrowly cylindrical, about 5 mm in diameter. Flowerheads are clasped by rows of narrow, yellowish bracts that are not sticky. There are no ray florets. The tiny, yellow disc florets are star-shaped with five narrow, pointed lobes (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
