    Pteronia staehelinoides

Pteronia staehelinoides is a rigid, much-branched but single-stemmed shrub that grows to 50 cm.

The species distribution is in the Western Cape, in the Little Karoo from Montagu in the west to the Eastern Province as far as Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), as well as north of the Swartberg Mountains in the Great Karoo.

The habitat is rocky slopes and plains in clayey soils, also on disturbed sites. The species is not considered threatened in habitat early in the twenty first century.
