The individual florets of Boophone disticha spread their pinkish red, oblong tepals slightly angled up in the photo. Each funnel-shaped perianth tube is from 4 mm to 10 mm long, the tepals from 20 mm to 30 mm long and 2 mm to 3 mm wide. The florets are actinomorphic in shape or radially symmetrical.
The oblong anthers of the spreading stamens are well exserted on tepal-coloured filaments, the anthers pale cream here but fading to brown and shrinking while shrivelling.
The pedicels of the individual flowers in an umbel range in colour from green or yellowish to blue-grey or pinkish brown across plants of the species. They elongate in fruiting, resulting in a bigger and fully developed sphere, fit for the rolling during dispersal (Duncan, et al, 2016; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Pooley, 1998).
