There are many kinds of daisies blooming during the Namaqualand spring. Some years the pageant is outstanding. Every season differs due to rain, the timing of it, temperature patterns and other vicissitudes of climate.
The name Namaqualand daisy is used widely for several of the species, although the "real" one is usually Dimorphotheca sinuata.
Gardeners in many parts have success in growing some of them from seed. Members of the Botanical Society of South Africa have an easy way of obtaining seed (if this service is still in existence).
