The slender, petal-like ray florets of the yellow Didelta spinosa flowerhead curve, twist and spread gracefully to their acutely three-pointed tips. Some superficial, longitudinal channelling or ridges are visible on the rays. Flowerhead diameter is from 4 cm to 5 cm.
The small, open disc florets around the many yellow buds in the centre of the flowerhead spread the tips of their five out-curving corolla lobes, exposing yellow stamens. Styles may be lacking in the innermost disc florets, reduced to a male flower structure (Manning, 2009; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997).
