Limonium peregrinum leaves

    Limonium peregrinum leaves

The alternate leaves of Limonium peregrinum are obovate to spathulate with obtusely pointed, rounded or notched tips and tapering bases. The margins are entire and creamy yellow, as is the midrib, visible all the way to the leaf-tip. Leaf dimensions are 4 cm to 8 cm by 1 cm to 2 cm.

Only one lateral vein is (in some cases) visible on each side of the midrib in picture, starting low and continuing upwards to the leaf-tip, nearly parallel to the midrib but not always distinct. The blades are sometimes pitted. The leaf-tips in picture are often curved outwards and beak-like near the midribs (Manning, 2007; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
