Rosenia humilis flowerhead remains

    Rosenia humilis flowerhead remains

Typical of Rosenia humilis, the old flowerheads or capitula persist on the bush from the last flowering season (which was spring). The April photo shows the most recent orange-brown dry fruit among the leaves, not yet ready to disappear as their seeds are not yet released.

Also visible is a dark blotch, a relic of an even older capitulum from an earlier year, presumably the previous one (http://keys.lucidcentral.org).
