Victoria Falls

    Victoria Falls

The most spectacular natural water feature of southern Africa does not cease to astonish. Neither in flood, nor in drought.

On the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia the waters of the Zambezi thunder down in a sheet so high and wide that it makes the bucket list of many who pick nature as the theme of what they rate most worthy. Forget about the bucket when you get there, but remember the umbrella, for you will get wet on a clear day.

Known as The Smoke that Thunders and Boiling Water among the people of the region, the impact on the mind while standing here is enormous, the memory lasting. It is not silent, for nature has the floor and the sky. Personal silence will be good.

Watching the white-water plummet into the chasm over the basalt river floor inspires. What happens to the streams of inspiration that arise here in untold minds is as little known as the paths of the water molecules that speed down.
