The soul seeks the wet

    The soul seeks the wet

Water presents pictures to people that they recognise in their emotions. The endless range of feelings evoked by life experiences have counterparts in views presented by water in motion or at rest. As if the feelings have partly escaped and found refuge out there in the wet.

Whether an observer is comfortably ensconced by the water’s edge, enjoyably immersed in it or fatally succumbing to its force, the symphony of water’s manifold appeals can seldom be ignored; and they work unseen in the subconscious.

The body’s survival need for water is matched in the spirit. As the patient knows (and hopes) more about the outcome of the medicine than its functional activity, the spirit thankfully receives the healing brought by the water without fathoming its magic. Maybe nymphs are still necessary.
