Crassula subaphylla var. subaphylla flowers starting

Floral beginnings on this Crassula subaphylla var. subaphylla plant were seen during October west of Barrydale. The compact, rounded bud clusters are positioned at stem-tips. The still dominant sepals are creamy green.

The erect, upper stems bearing the inflorescences have elongated, a feature visible in the long internodes between the decussate leaf-pairs (Smith, et al, 2017; iNaturalist).
