Crassula sladenii

    Crassula sladenii

Crassula sladenii shrublets are much branched at the base and higher up. The stems are thick and yellowish when young, becoming dark and woody with age. Dry leaves and stems tend to persist on the plant.

The flowers are small and white with black anthers. They grow in large, branched and rounded panicles at stem tips. This specimen is covered in dried out panicles maybe ready to disperse some seed.

There is a belief that climate change is currently reducing the prevalence of this plant, as many drought related dead plants are currently found, apparently not being replaced in the prevailing habitat conditions (http://redlist.sanbi.org).
