The leaves of Crassula sladenii are thickly succulent and opposite, touching and merging at the base like those of C. perforata. This fused leaf pair feature has earned the plant the Afrikaans name of groot inrygertjie (big little stringer (!) as C. perforata that shares the feature is the inrygertjie, the little stringer).
The leaf margins are lined with a dull pink or purple. Tiny dark dots are scattered on the upper leaf surface away from the leaf base. Leaf colouring is faint grey green, pale yellowish cream or tinged with some orange or pink near the tips (iSpot; Van Jaarsveld, et al, 2006).
