Because Crassula perforata often scrambles through the branches of neighbouring shrubbery, the leaves tend to display the pale, weedy appearance of the shade dweller. The plant photographed here managed to send its branches into sufficient sun for gaining some colour. And the colours acquired by these leaves would do justice to the palette of a colour loving artist.
The plant was seen in April in the Baviaanskloof, a region worth visiting for its vegetation and mountain views (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
