New growth on Jasminum multipartitum shows red-brown emerging leaves at the tips of the climbing, branching stems.
The simple, broadly lanceolate leaves are opposite on short stalks. Leaf colour is bright, glossy green to dark green once the reddish youthfulness is discarded, particularly along the margins where it may linger. The hairless leaves taper to acutely pointed tips.
Leaf margins are entire, slightly wavy and in the photo a little turned up or curving in along the midrib. Two or three lateral veins ascend on each side of the midrib, pale cream in colour and incurving near the margins (Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; www.plantzafrica.com).
